Tutorial Four and Five: Video Production Sessions

In class we looked at video making. We were split into groups and had to make and edit a video. Following is the tutorial questions;

1) Provide a brief summary of the services offered by YouTube.
YouTube is a video sharing website. It provides the opportunity for account holders to upload and share an unlimited amount of videos and unregistered users can view these for free. Most of the YouTube videos existing were posted by individuals, however media corporations such as the BBC also offer clips.

YouTube allows for ordinary people to post a video to a worldwide audience and get a message across, give an opinion or show a skill. This has had a major affect on the world and internet culture, as well as creating a wealth of knowledge.

2) Provide a brief account on how the use of planning (storyboarding and scripting) aided your groups in short film.
Planning has a great impact on how filming is approached and the end product. This really helped our group with making our video because it gave us something to focus on. We decided to look at hazards on the WINTEC site and were able to work out the order and what we wanted to achieve.

Planning also made the process more effective because it we went in knowing what we were working towards and what shots were required to get the effect we wanted.
To make the film successful and more purposeful it is essential to plan.
